Through a monthly Clean Up day, ViaVia Entebbe aims to draw attention to waste pollution in the community and sensitize the local community on the use of proper waste management techniques.
Through the Clean Up exercises, ViaVia Entebbe aims to encourage the local community members to participate in a monthly Clean Up morning in Katabi, Entebbe. This location was chosen not only because of the location of the ViaVia compound, but also because of the visibility of increased poor (plastic) waste management. For this reason, ViaVia Entebbe will not only engage the community to participate in these Clean Up days, but also take the opportunity to sensitise them on the use of proper waste management techniques.
The main objective of the Clean Up exercises is to draw attention to waste pollution in the community. This is done by sensitizing residents about proper waste management techniques. Furthermore, ViaVia Entebbe aims to create a cleaner, nicer and therefore healthier environment through this activity and reduce the effects of poor waste management (and thus climate change) practices on the environment.
